Two years on from the completion of the Deni Ute Muster Museum and office building on the Deniliquin Festival Site, landscaping of the site has finally begun.
The appearance of the area has already been completely transformed with the installation of turf this month.
“It is worth the drive out to have a look at the impact this has made,” Deni Play on the Plains Inc general manager Vicky Lowry said.
“A total area of 4,450m² has been laid with a combination of line planting and rolled out turf, using Eureka Premium Kikuyu.
“Thank You to Coolabah Turf, Troy and the team from Green Space Landscaping, and also for the assistance of the volunteers, staff and board members on the day in laying the turf.”
While on the subject of the Deni Ute Muster, just a reminder that reserved camping is now open for bookings.
You must be a ticket holder to book one of these reserved camping spots.
While camping is included in your event ticket, reserved camping allows you to set up in a specific area rather than pin your hopes on the luck of the draw.

George St closed for repairs
Sewer repairs in George St, Deniliquin recommenced yesterday.
Both lanes of George St directly in front of the repair site - outside Betta Home Living Superstore and Josh’s Bakehouse, near the corner of Napier St - were closed at 6am yesterday in anticipation of works commencing.
No time frame has been given on how long both lanes will be closed for, but businesses in the vicinity say they have been told verbally the repairs could take up to two weeks.
Businesses are still accessible on foot, and shoppers are asked to use the temporary entrance at the Hardinge St end of the George St car park to access IGA.
The works have been prompted by the emergence of a sink hole at the entrance to the car park in early December.
Initially expected to be a quick job, the water table height in the area made the worksite unsafe.
A water pump has been running non-stop to lower the water table and allow works to continue.

A weekend of extremes
There’s a long running joke that you get four seasons in one day in Melbourne, and this summer it appears to be true of our local area too.
After a relatively mild week last week the aircons were in full action again on Saturday when the mercury climbed to almost 40ºC.
In anticipation of the hot spell, the Campaspe Valley Bowls Association implemented earlier start times.
Thankfully the heat did not linger, and by 6pm Saturday the mercury started to plummet fast.
We woke to grey conditions on Sunday, and by 1pm the rain started to fall lightly but consistently for the rest of the day.
There was 8.8mm of rain recorded at the Deniliquin Airport weather station to 8.30pm.
The day’s top temperature was significantly lower than the 38.1ºC recorded a day earlier, with the mercury peaking at 24.3ºC at midday Sunday.
