It seems our weeks of lockdown may well be nearing an end with pubs getting the green light to reopen next week.

Everyone will enjoy getting back to their local and catching up with their mates after such a long break.
All they will have to do is to remember their social distancing rules and of course to wash their hands – frequently!
Hopefully the club will not be far behind so the whole community can be catered for.
The distancing regulations are probably the hardest for operators offering meals and beverages especially when sit-down meals are concerned and tables are required.
It would be so much easier if we could take our folding chairs along and eat meals from our laps.
In any event it will probably not be too long before things return to normal, and if everyone does the right thing the Coronavirus will become a distant memory.

Mathoura Golf Club was back in the swing on Sunday, although it was a subdued affair.
Ten members contested the 18-hole stableford event on what was a very chilly day.
Kevin Crack took the honours in the event with 30 stableford points, followed by Garry Hulm on 28.
The main thing missing for players was the post-game warm hospitality for which the club is renowned.
Rules prevented it from opening up the clubhouse and stoking up the fire which would normally be a welcome attraction to dispel the chills.
In any event the club will welcome players for another members only event again on Sunday with hit-off between 12 and 12.30pm.

Throughout the current pandemic, with all its rules and restrictions, one thing that has distracted us from being bored or feeling isolated has been the array of photographs from yesteryear which has been circulating.
So how will we remember the current situation when it is relegated to yesteryear?
Well, the Finley Arts Network has come up with something that might fill the bill, a Youth Photography Competition.
The competition, with the theme, ‘Isolation’, is open to Juniors (7 to 12 years) and Seniors (13 to 18 years) and offers a combined $260 in prize money.
Entries in the junior section will be restricted to colour pictures while seniors may enter colour, black and white as well as photo art and editing.
Entrants may submit up to three pictures in one or more category, taken with digital or SLR cameras or mobile phones.
Entries must be the entrant’s original works for all compositional elements including textures and borders.
Entries, including name, age and address, are to be sent in jpeg file to finleyartsnetwork@gmail.com.
The competition closes on June 19.

Well, the schools have returned to normal so it’s time to move on to the next most important thing for our community – getting back on track with the football and netball.
The Timbercutters are hoping their history making plans to field an under 11s football team for the first time this season have not been affected by the ‘lay-off’ caused by the Coronavirus.
But if the kids are as keen to get back into training as the local students were to return to school there should be no problems.
With pre-virus indications the club was in for a good year, it is hoped it can pick up where it left off and be in the running for another flag.
Good luck guys!
