Mathoura sent a warning shot to the rest of the Campaspe Valley Bowls Division teams in a 53 shot win against second placed Rich River on Saturday.
Mathoura won on all three rinks in the 81 to 28 shot victory at home.
Anthony Hulme, Craig Hillier, Dennis McHarry and Mark Quor launched the strongest performing rink, cruising their way to a 32 to 5 shot win.
The remaining two rinks both managed 13 shot wins, with the team of Adam Cowley, Les Bates, Joe Murphy and Mick Humphreys victorious 26 to 13, and Rod Werner, Mick Hooper, David Hicks and Ash Vesty standing tall 23 to 10.
The win sees Mathoura comfortably in the top four, sitting two games clear of fifth placed Tongala.
Mathoura’s Division Two side jumped to top spot on the ladder following a thrilling two shot win, 63 to 61, against previous ladder leader Rich River.
A massive 34 to 11 shot loss for Garry Hulm, Steve O’Callaghan, Chris Roberts and Mick Beeche almost proved costly for Mathoura.
Mathoura refused to roll over though with Cec Moss, John McGowan, Terry Taylor and Glen McConchie standing tall in a 29 to 16 win and David Vallance, Al Polak, Stan Limbrick and Paul Clear recording a 23 to 11 win.
Mathoura’s undefeated streak in Division Three was extended to seven wins when they defeated Echuca in a Friday night clash at Echuca.
The visitors managed two rink wins and a draw on their way to victory with Ian Ross, Neil Dovaston, Chris Taylor and Beryl Murray the best performing rink in a 29 to 12 win.
Barry Ireland, Gary Lumsden, Pam Lewis and Rick Ireland proved too good for their opponents in a 24 to 11 win, while nothing could split Peter Wilson, Dave Murray, Bruce Clancy and Ray Murphy and their opponents in an 18-all tie.
Mathoura came agonisingly close to an upset win against Division Four ladder leader Echuca on Saturday, suffering a 55 to 53 shot loss.
Adam Harding, Peter Cowley, Wayne Cowley and Danny Wardlaw (s) were the only winners for Mathoura in a 19 to 16 shot victory.
Bill Brander, Peter Thorpe, Barry McMillan and John Dean were edged out by just one shot in a 17 to 16 shot loss, while Peter Webber, Bruce Papworth, John Bates and Pam Limbrick also went down in a tight 22 to 18 shot loss.

Mathoura have also started both their Mixed Pairs and Men’s Pairs Club Championships.
