This has left many visitors and locals with limited options for outdoor activities during the summer season.
Luckily, Deni’s Edward River serves as a great alternative.
Both McLean and Willoughby’s Beach offer a fantastic spot to continue the holiday fun.
With its stunning views and sandy shores, McLean Beach is a great place to relax, swim, and enjoy the sunshine or put a boat in the water.
So why not head to the beach and make the most of your summer vacation?
Take the proper precautions
Talking of spending time on the water ...
As the weather continues to bring us blistering hot days and many of us head to the pools and rivers to cool off, it’s important to remember the potential dangers associated with these activities.
Drowning is actually one of the top ten causes of death among children aged 5 to 14, and it’s scary to think that only a few centimetres of water can be enough for a child to drown.
To combat these dangers, there are a number of precautions that we can all take.
Some of these include enrolling children in swimming and water safety lessons, actively supervising children around water, wearing life jackets when necessary, being aware of potential dangers when around or travelling on water, and swimming in patrolled areas.
It’s also important to have a plan in place in case of an accident on the water, and taking a first aid and CPR course can be a great way to develop these skills for yourself.
