She was this week announced as the winner of the Deniliquin Eyecare Maui Jim non-scripted sunglasses giveaway, launched specifically to recognise those who have supported their community through the crisis.
Miss Spalding was nominated for her role in keeping her Motiv8 members accountable to their fitness goals while isolated.
‘‘She did an absolutely outstanding job supporting all her gym members, by posting daily workouts alongside her mum Barb,’’ her nomination read.
‘‘She kept everyone positive, offering lots of encouragement and motivation to keep everyone inspired and keep moving.’’
Deniliquin Eyecare owner Peter Thompson said Miss Spalding’s nomination was one of 13 individual nominations received for the competition.
‘‘We were quite impressed with all the nominations, and want to thank everyone who nominated,’’ Mr Thompson said.
‘‘We had one person — Lourene Liebenberg — nominated multiple times, and a number of other individuals.
‘‘We had such trouble deciding in the end, that we chose to pick a winner out of a hat.’’
Miss Spalding collected her prize on Wednesday — four years to the day since she purchased Motiv8 gym — which made the win more special.
‘‘It is nice to feel appreciated,’’ she said.
‘‘Posting the workouts was not just about keeping my members motivated, it also kept me accountable to stay fit during the lockdown.
‘‘It took me at least half an hour to choose from the Maui Jim range — including sending photos and making video chats to get advice about the style — and I love them already.’’
