Community groups and not-for-profit organisations were invited to apply for up to $3000 for projects or events under round two of the 24/25 Community Grants Program.
Of the 20 applications received seeking a combined total of $46,754, 13 local groups were successful.
The funds will help in a variety of ways, including purchasing lifesaving equipment, supporting healthy eating programs and general facility improvements.
Mayor John Harvie said the program continues to be a vital way to support local ideas and build stronger community connections.
“Our Community Grants Program assists organisations to deliver initiatives that benefit our wider community,” he said.
“It’s also a great way to build stronger partnerships between council and our local committees and groups, so we’re once again pleased to support some exciting projects across the region.”
Council said the successful projects in this round “reflect the diverse needs and priorities of the Murray River Council community”, with funded projects spread across various townships and interest areas.
The selection process was guided by a thorough assessment of each project’s merits, consideration of alternative funding options available to applicants, and how else council might support projects not selected.
