The initiative, called the Band Enabling and Training Sound-Lab (BEATS), gives young people aged 15 to 27 a fresh pathway into the music industry.
The program will be delivered in partnership with Deniliquin’s youth radio station, The End FM.
The program delivers online mentoring sessions with industry professionals before participants come together for a five-day live-in Sound-Lab intensive in Deniliquin in March.
BEATS program manager Fabian Pertzel said the experience peaks with a two-day festival where participants showcase their skills through performances and compete in a Battle of the Bands, with winning acts earning a coveted spot to perform at the 2026 Deni Ute Muster.
“'We know there's incredible talent in regional New South Wales, but often there are fewer opportunities to take that next step.
“BEATS is about bringing young people together, connecting them with mentors and giving them the skills and experiences they need to grow – whether that's on stage, in the studio or behind the scenes.”
The initiative welcomes young people with experience in music, performance or related areas, including those keen to explore songwriting, production, event management, marketing and touring.
Young people interested in participating can lodge their expressions of interest until October 8. Email beats@endfm.com.au or visit The End FM’s broadcasting space at 122 End St, Deniliquin.
