It is a relatively small team who works behind the scenes to organise and run the event every year, but they are backed by a volunteer committee and a huge contingent of other volunteers who help them put on a ‘party of the plains’ for up to 20,000 people each year.
“Without our volunteers, it would be extremely hard to run the festival,” festival general manager Vicky Lowry said.
“We are always looking for volunteers for both during the year and over the festival period.”
Volunteer applications for this year’s event - to be held Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30 - are open now.
You can register as an individual, or as a community group.
Volunteer work will include working in retail such as merchandise sales, as well as scanning tickets at the gate, directing traffic in the parking areas, rubbish pick up and more.
Individuals who complete two five hour shifts or more receive a free pass to the iconic event.
Community groups that lend a hand will receive a donation from the Ute Muster as a thank you.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, you can contact the team on 5881 3388 or send an email to info@deniutemuster.com.au.
