The Deniliquin community has helped raise more than $5500 for important cancer support and research initiatives.

That’s the tally so far, after the annual Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser in Napier St on Thursday morning.
It was hosted by Denise Phillips and friends outside of My Shop, with tea and cake and a range of other homemade treats on offer.
A raffle was also organised with the first prize being an overnight stay at Cottages on Edward (won by Anne Sinclair) and the second prize a $100 AMPOLCash voucher (won by Pat and Richard Fogarty).
All proceeds are donated to support the Cancer Council of NSW.
“Money is still coming in, but at this stage, we have $5500,” Mrs Phillips said.
“We had the most fantastic morning and just want to thank all the lovely ladies and gentlemen who helped and all the people who came to support the morning tea for cancer research”.
A special guest on Thursday morning was Federal Member for Farrer Sussan Ley, who was in Deniliquin meeting with community members that day.
“There is no better, bigger morning tea anywhere in Australia,” Ms Ley said of the Deni event.
“It is quite amazing the amount of money raised.
“I think you can see the spirit of Deni on this very footpath.”
