They had the opportunity to explore the shop for a hidden treasure or two, and then accepted a very kind donation from the shop committee to support the students and families.
The students know that it is through the support of community groups like this that they are able to have a wide range of experiences.
Principal Veronica Braybon said next week the Year 5/6 students are heading off to Canberra to explore democracy, national history and so much more.
“Through community support such as this, we are able to decrease the cost of excursions for families,” she said.
“Excursions are such crucial experiences for our students.
“Their city counterparts have many opportunities just around the corner. Excursions are just one way we can bridge the gap.”
Miss Braybon also expressed that as the cost of living increases, these costs can cause stress on family finances.
“The last thing we want for our families is added financial hardship.
“To offer relief in this way is so wonderful and the students and their families are grateful for this assistance.”
