The Community Recognition Statements congratulate or acknowledge the achievements of people or groups in the community which recognise charity work, retirement or honours and awards.
They are presented by members to the NSW Parliament in short sittings.
Recipients were as follows:
Deniliquin Racing Club committee - accepted by Michael Simpson on behalf of his late brother Peter Simpson and Joan and Russell Douglas.
Mrs Dalton acknowledged their combined efforts and “dedication and hard work had led to more than $60,000 in infrastructure upgrades and made a huge turnaround for the club financially and in race-day success.”
Deni Ute Muster committee - accepted by chair Russell Tait and general manager Vicky Lowry.
“I congratulate the committee and volunteers for delivering a festival that is such a huge success what a vision, which has now put Deni and the Muster on the map,” Mrs Dalton said.
Deni Driver Education Program - accepted by committee members Jenny Fellows, Peter Rae and Leanne Mulham.
The program is delivered to Year 10 students at Deniliquin High School in partnership with emergency services and local organisations.
“This is not a fly by night program; it has saved many lives and I congratulate you on its growth and success,” Mrs Dalton said.
The Jervis Family - presented to whipcracking enthusiasts and competitors Beau, Brooke and Jesse Jervis.
All registered places on a national scale, and Beau is currently the national champion for his age group.
Mrs Dalton congratulated the students on their skills and wished them all the best for future competitions.
