A 23-year-old Yarrawonga man was treated in hospital for facial injuries after being assaulted by a 38-year-old man on Belmore St in Yarrawonga on July 5.
The 38-year-old has been hit with a number of assault charges but police are still investigating the circumstances of the serious assault.

Yarrawonga Police have been out in force with several drivers detected driving while affected by drugs or alcohol.
A Bundalong man has had his license suspended after failing a roadside breath test.
Police stopped the 47-year-old man on the Murray Valley Highway in Yarrawonga late on the evening of July 4.
His licence was immediately suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.
He will appear at the Cobram Magistrates Court on a date to be fixed.
The following night, a 64-year-old Burramine woman was pulled over on Belmore St where she also failed a breath test.
Her licence was immediately suspended and she will also appear at the Cobram Magistrates Court.
A 19-year-old woman was stopped by police on Belmore Street at midday on Sunday, July 6 where she tested positive for an illegal substance.
She was fined $611 for driving impaired and lost her licence for six months.
