When police arrived at the scene and started talking to the man, who seemed somewhat agitated, they saw that he was carrying a knife with a silver handle in his pocket.
The police confiscated the knife and gave the man an infringement notice for having custody of a weapon in a public place.
The man received a $550 fine.
Houseboat break in
A houseboat on the Edward River has been broken into between May 14 and May 21.
The owners reported the break in to police at 3pm on Saturday, May 21.
The house boat was broken into, had minor damage and a number of items were stolen including alcohol.

Malicious damage to $20,000 regulator
An employee of Murray Irrigation Limited attended Deniliquin police station on May 20 to report malicious damage to a water gate regulator valued at $20,000.
The damaged water regulator is located on the channel near Mckinnon Lane, across from the Newell Hwy.
It is believed the damage happened about 3pm on May 11, when the regulator stopped admitting its signal.
Police were given a number of items of interest found at the scene.
