About 10.18pm Saturday, police attempted to stop a vehicle in Hardinge St, Deniliquin.
Police allege the black Toyota Hilux did not stop, and a police pursuit was initiated.
It was concluded shortly after “in the interests of public safety”.
Checks later revealed the car has been reported missing over the border.
About 1pm Sunday, police found the same black Hilux abandoned in George St, Deniliquin.
The vehicle was seized for forensic testing and inquiries are ongoing.

Driver suspended
A 28 year-old man has had his licence suspended after being charged with alleged drink driving.
The man was stopped driving in St Michael St, Deniliquin about 5am Sunday and subjected to a roadside breath test.
Police allege the test was positive, and the man was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where he underwent breath analysis and is alleged to have returned a reading of 0.050.
The driver was issued a licence suspension notice, and charged with low range prescribed content of alcohol pending a court appearance.
