Push for health continues

Following the collection of more than 700 Victorian, and 1,300 NSW and Federal petition signatures, the Corowa Rutherglen Wahgunyah (CRW) Health Action Group has met with Federation Council, state, and federal representatives to discuss the next steps for local health.

The CRWHAG continues to push for fair and sustainable healthcare investment in the region and in the coming weeks, the team will formally present the petitions to state and federal parliaments.

The presentation includes local MPs, upper house representatives, and members of the CRW Health Action Group, and any interested community members who wish to be involved.

The petitions call for two clear priorities:

1. Appropriate, fully funded hospital development for Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) in line with the 2021 Clinical Services Plan.

2. Investment in supporting regional hospitals like Corowa and Urana to ease the growing pressures on AWH and ensure local healthcare services remain viable for the long term.

This is a community-led effort, and the CRW Health Action Group is grateful for the overwhelming support received.

Spokesman, John Crothers said the next step was to stand together, united in purpose and message, so the collective voice is heard by health ministers and policymakers.
