The Georgious were recognised at the annual Quest Conference in Cairns in early August, dedicating the win to their team of workers.
“The team we have at Quest Shepparton are a wonderful group of people,” Mr Georgiou said.
“They are always focused on exceeding customer service standards, and they deliver on this daily. This special award is wonderful recognition for all their hard work.”
Mr Georgiou said consistency within the team through the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic had been an important part of their success.
“We kept everyone employed during the pandemic because our team is critical to the success of our business,” he said.
“Stability was essential, from housekeeping to reception. Our amazing team, led by our property manager Michael De Maria, worked hard to strengthen guest relationships.”
Mr Georgiou said Shepparton was increasingly becoming a regional tourism destination, reflecting data that showed for the year ending March 2022, regional trips contributed 66 per cent to total Victorian tourism spend, up from 51 per cent on pre-pandemic levels.
“Regional Victoria, including Shepparton, is becoming a weekend getaway destination,” Mr Georgiou said.
“I think our central location in Victoria, along with the construction of SAM and MOVE has helped. In the last month we’ve also had a lot of travellers from South Australia visiting the snowfields.
“Since purchasing the business over seven years ago, Shepparton’s appeal has come a long way.”
