Noah’s Racing Pigs will return to the Muster this year as a crowd-favourite fundraiser supporting Deniliquin Can Assist.
There will be five races each day, drawing laughter, cheers, and generous support from locals and visitors alike.
But behind the fun lies a serious purpose: raising funds to help local families facing cancer.
Can Assist provides financial assistance, practical support, and advocacy to ensure rural Australians receive the same treatment opportunities as those in metropolitan areas.
“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Deniliquin Can Assist president Kellie Crossley.
“We’re grateful to be back at the Ute Muster.
“We love running it — it’s a nice way to not have to lean on the local community for funds, and instead get support from all the people from out of town.”
Can Assist has benefited from the pig racing in the past, but in the past few years the pigs were swapped out for ferret racing.
Whether its pigs or ferrets, each race includes a raffle and auction, with raffle winners being assigned a pig and auction winners bidding for their chosen pig.
If your pig wins the race, you win a prize, meaning two winners per race.
Major sponsors include Nutrien and AGnVET, with each race also backed by individual sponsors.
All proceeds go directly to Deniliquin Can Assist, helping families with travel costs, accommodation, and treatment-related expenses.
