Centred on Memorial Park tomorrow and Sunday, the event will feature tractors, motorcycles, hot rods, custom and classic cars, stationary engines, vintage caravans and a huge array of collectables.
A show and shine will be an added feature on the Sunday.
Also returning will be the event’s tractor trek, which will see enthusiasts journey out of Memorial Park, through the Deniliquin CBD and to Conargo.
Deniliquin Collectors Club secretary and Harry Ferguson tractor collector Daryl Whateley said he expects about 15 tractors to take part.
They will depart Memorial Park about 9am tomorrow, and create a spectacle through town he hopes will encourage people to seek out the activities at the showgrounds.
They will then use a combination of back roads and main roads to make their way to the Conargo Hotel for a social outing before returning to Memorial Park.
In Deniliquin for their first ever rally are Colleen Baldwin and Mick Walker from Bacchus Marsh.
They will be displaying their 1968 Roadhaven caravan and 1963 Ford Fairlane 500.
The pair learned about the event from rally committee member Steve Beckwith at a recent vintage caravan show.
The Roadhaven, in particular, is special to them.
“It’s only ever had one other owner, Gordon McKenzie, who bought it brand new,” Colleen said.
“We saw him at a show once and asked if he would consider selling it. He said no, and that we would have to speak to his sons after he had died.
“Sadly Gordon did pass away at the age of 1992 and we did speak to his sons, and we’ve now had the caravan since December 2021.”
Mr Whateley said there are expected to be at least 20 vintage caravans on display throughout the weekend.
Spring Rally secretary Helen Barker starts setting up her Transformers collectable display ahead of this weekend's event.
As for the number of other exhibitors, it’s always hard to predict how many will turn up.
“But the way the weather is looking, I think we’ll have a fair few vehicles turn up,” he said.
Local and visiting collectors have spent days preparing the showgrounds at Memorial Park for the event, which has included setting up collectable displays in the Deni Show pavilion and Collectors Club’s rooms.
Rally secretary Helen Baker said there would be about a dozen collections on display in the pavilion.
Among them will be Transformers, Assasin’s Creed collectables, belt buckles, lanterns, Matchbox Cars and Friends and Bluey items.
Collector enthusiasts can look forward to a swap site where you buy and sell items, along with stationary displays.
And there will be children’s entertainment for the young ones to enjoy.
Entry to the Spring Rally is $5 per day. Catering will be available on site. For more information, contact Helen Baker on 0488 191 858.
