A goods and services auction was held as part of a free family fun night, with a table piled high with goods donated by local businesses garnering a lot of interest.
More than 150 people attended the night and riders were ‘‘very happy’’ with how the night turned out, according to team member Darcy Biggs.
‘‘On behalf of the Deni fundraising committee, we’d like to thank all the local businesses for their ongoing support and send our thanks to all the locals for supporting the ride,’’ Mr Biggs said.
Live music and food trucks also made for a lovely evening.
It was also a chance for the riders to come together for the evening, since they all have varying training regimes.
‘‘It’s a bit of a diverse group so we generally wouldn’t get together,’’ Mr Biggs said.
‘‘The team is feeling good about going into the event and looking forward to this year.
‘‘One good thing about having the event at the boat club, when historically the fundraiser is held at a house, is that you could get more people out there.
‘‘And we are getting a lot more questions about the event.’’
This year’s Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay will be held on April 2 and 3, covering 537km between Echuca and Port Fairy.
