The relocation from behind Ritchies IGA is expected to take place early next year, with a new site yet to be confirmed.
The team behind the container deposit and recycling scheme said the relocation is at the request of the owner of the supermarket building.
“Recently, IGA Deniliquin changed hands and the landlord has terminated the contract for hosting the Return and Earn IGA Deniliquin machine at this location,” a Return and Earn team spokesperson said.
“Once an alternate site has been identified by network operator TOMRA Cleanaway, the Return and Earn machine will be relocated as soon as possible.
“Currently, the termination notification means the machines should not be impacted until March 2026.”
The termination notification was provided to TOMRA Cleanaway at the end of September.
“TOMRA Cleanaway is investigating local options for relocation of the machines as soon as possible.
“TOMRA will work with the new host location to ensure access to Return and Earn is maintained.”
