After a major year of projects in 2021, in 2022 the RBN will now be meeting on the second Wednesday of the month at Rochester Cafe between 1pm and 2pm.
“We’re looking to have a big year this year,” Mrs Nichol said.
“In 2021, what we found with COVID-19 was we couldn’t have as many meetings as usual, but we’re really pleased with what we accomplished.
“We did a lot of work remotely and we achieved our short-term goals, but we’re going to be doing more future planning in 2022.”
The RBN will be applying for more grants including for more activities for Rochester’s teenage population.
“We’re always on the lookout for appropriate grants to apply for, and things on our radar are more security cameras, a device charging table and activities for the youth,” Mrs Nichol said.
“We’re also looking into the possibility of a pump track for the town’s teenagers.
“We have the new Playspace for younger children but there is not a lot for the town’s `kid-aults’, so that’s one of our goals.”
The network has set its dates for 2022; any updates or changes to meeting times will be posted on the RBN Facebook page.
