The brigade not only protects lives and property throughout the year, but historically conveys Santa on his Christmas trip both within the town and out to the river.
He delivers bags of lollies to delighted children – and a few child-like adults who don’t want to miss out.
It was the second time in as many weeks the brigade had the honour of driving Santa.
He also arrived at Mathoura’s Carols by Candlelight by fire truck.

Residents and visitors to the Picnic Point area will be pleased to hear that communication in the area is to be significantly improved.
A mobile phone tower is to be erected in the area.
While it won’t happen overnight, they can be assured of good communication in times of floods or fires, not to mention having their mobile phones working all the time.
