Get ready for the smell of sawdust and timber — the Goulburn Valley’s famous woodworking show is returning to the Shepparton Showgrounds on October 1 and 2.

Len Taylor has been a GV Woodworkers member for 31 years and has organised 20 of the past 30 shows, including this one.
“We have over 50 stall holders and just about every stall will be running demonstrations,” Mr Taylor said.
“We’ve got stall holders from Melbourne, SA, Wangaratta, NSW, Tasmania ... This is the biggest woodworking show in regional Victoria.”
Demonstrations include wavy boards (bending timber with boiling water), resin pouring (a popular craft right now), whittling, box making, wood turning, band sawing, scroll sawing, pyrography (decorating wood with burn marks), knife and tool sharpening and much more.
Food vans and a kids’ area will be available, and everyone under 16 gets in for free.

“There will also be lots of timber — some of the cheapest you’ll find all year,” Ms Slaughter said.
Entry is $12.50 for adults, $10 for pensioners, $20 weekend passes.
