Spring will certainly be welcome when it arrives next week.
But I hope people have enough wood to see them through because the fires have certainly been burning.
It might have been heavy, but we’ve certainly been in situations where we had far more water to contend with before.
Muray River Council has started the process of recording some of the local community’s experience with flood and inundation.
If you want to share details on how you were impacted by the most recent floods (including the 2010, 2016 and 2022 Murray River floods) to shape council’s flood study review, you can go to yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au.
There will also be a community drop-in session on Tuesday, September 23 from noon to 1pm for community members wishing to know more about the review or to offer feedback or relevant information.
You can read more about the review on page 5 of today’s Pastoral Times.

The Crump family have had some highs and lows in the past few weeks.
Unfortunately, they have lost two popular members of their family.
The passing of one family member just a couple of weeks ago has now been followed by the death of her sister, Pauline May Crump, at the age of 95.
She was the dearly loved mother of Marcia, Fiona, Chris and Naomi, as well as an adored grandmother and great grandmother.
Following a service in Melbourne on September 3, a graveside service will be held at the Mathoura Pioneer Cemetery, on Thursday from 2pm.
Sympathy is extended to all.
To provide a bit of relief to the family’s sadness, they travelled to Melbourne’s Supreme Court of Victoria to witness family member, Holly Crump, being admitted to the legal profession as an Australian lawyer and as an Officer of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Congratulations to Holly on a job well done!
The only problem now will be that everyone will have to be bobbing up and down picking up the buttons from Chris’ shirts that will be all over the floor.
