Tocumwal Public School students Kobi Jones and Maya Daggett represented their school and zone at the NSW PSSA State Softball Championships in Sydney.
The pair were part of the Riverina team, with a highlight at the end of the three day carnival being Kobi’s most valuable player award.
It is voted on by the team, and is a very special and well-deserved recognition of her efforts and resilience and sportsmanship.
The Riverina team competed against the best of the state’s softball players over 12 games, with both girls in key roles - Kobi as catcher and Maya as pitcher.
TPS principal Darren White said the school has a proud tradition of students being selected in the Riverina side.
“This achievement is even more noteworthy given our girls only train and play with the school team.
“The school is thrilled with their achievements and congratulate Kobi on her MVP award.”
