Entertaining you for the morning will be the local Sing Australia Choir and the Edward River Concert Band, who will form part of the official ceremony.
The official part of the morning will begin from 9am.
As well as an address by Australia Day ambassador and hometown hero Leo Barry Jnr, the morning will include the presentation of Australia Day awards.
To be presented will be:
● Citizen of the Year
● Senior Sports Award
● Junior Sports Award
● Arts & Culture Award
● Community Event or Initiative of the Year
● Environmental Citizen of the Year (the Bill Hermiston Memorial Award).
Edward River Council general manager Phil Stone said the awards are a great way to recognise community members who have contributed significantly to our region.
‘‘Edward River is a great community, with many standout leaders in sport, the environment, arts and events,’’ he said.
‘‘It would be great for us to recognise those leaders.’’
In the event of poor weather, the Edward River Australia Day celebrations will be moved to the Deniliquin Golf Club.
