Locals are reminded to stay alert, especially around the skate park and playground near Edwardes, where an active swooper has been reported.
Magpies typically swoop to defend their young, and while the behaviour is seasonal, it can catch unsuspecting passersby off guard.
Cyclists, children, and walkers are most at risk, so wearing hats, keeping eye contact, and avoiding known nesting areas can help reduce encounters.
