The Deniliquin Pastoral Times, along with local sponsors, has organised the promotion featuring two $500 minor draws and a substantial $5000 major prize.
For the first time, the prizes will be offered as half cash and half Deniliquin Business Chamber Why Leave Town Gift Cards.
“We understand the impact the cost of living is having on everyone, so we wanted our promotion to reflect this,' said Pastoral Times general manager Leesa Muir.
“With the cash, winners can perhaps use their prize to cover household expenses, pay their rates or other bills, or get a local tradie in to do that job they've always wanted done.”
The Christmas campaign is designed to reward people for shopping locally in the lead up to the festive season.
Participating businesses started issuing entry tickets from Friday, and you can earn more entries right up until the major prize draw at the Edward River Council Community Christmas Party in the Deniliquin Waring Gardens on December 19.
The minor prize draws are scheduled for Friday, October 31 and Friday, November 28.
Customers will earn one ticket for purchases up to $20, with extra tickets awarded for each additional $20 spent in a single transaction, capped at 20 tickets.
Double ticket opportunities are available on four bonus days: October 29, November 12, November 26 and December 10.
Local businesses wanting to take part can reach out to the Pastoral Times on 5881 2322 or email leesa.muir@denipt.com.au.
