The first was reported about 6.20pm.
Captain Marty Smith said firefighters arrived to find people were burning household rubbish.
The fire had been extinguished before firefighters arrived, and police and Ambulance NSW paramedics were also dispatched to the scene.
Just before 7pm the same night firefighters were again back in the truck after reports of a “very loud” explosion and a large fire.
“We arrived to find a pile burn of garden waste and extinguished it with a line of hose from the CAFS (compressed air foam system) Pumper.
“Police are continuing with inquiries.”
The incidents came after an almost 12 hour shift from local firefighters when two homes in Edwardes St were destroyed by fire.
They were called out at 2.40am and finished their shift just after 1.30pm Saturday.
Capt Smith said any burns within the township of Deniliquin first need approval from the Edward River Council, and then a permit from the Deniliquin brigade.
If you see an unattended fire, please report it to Triple Zero immediately.
First night market a hit
It might have been a chilly evening, but that did not stop locals and visitors turning out in droves for the first Sanctuary Lane Twilight Marketta in Deniliquin on Friday.
The brainchild of Adam Connolly, it was hosted on the front lawn of his Harry Pepper store.
Adam’s dream is to build the market to run regularly along Sanctuary Lane behind the coffee spot.
Those is attendance on Friday were met with the delicious smells of food being cooked in the courtyard and inside, and a number of stalls selling wares.
Photos from the evening will appear in Friday’s edition.
