Two local businesses are state bound

Small Trading Co won in the Outstanding New Business category.

It became a finalist at the regional awards after claiming the same award at the Deniliquin Business Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards.

SunRice Group won in the Excellence in Large Business category, which it also won at the Deniliquin Business Excellence Awards.

SunRice Group also self nominated for the Excellence in Sustainability award category, for which Deniliquin Business Excellence Awards category winner Grass Roots Finance was also a nominee.

Other nominees competing at a regional level because of their results at the local awards were: Employer of Choice - Deniliquin Children’s Centre; Outstanding Employee - Simon Genoff (Deniliquin Betta Home Living); Excellence in Micro Business - Olivia’s Lash Cave; Excellence in Small Business - The Depot Historic Vehicle and Memorabilia Collection; Outstanding Young Business Leader - Angela Carmichael (Big River Real Estate); Outstanding Business Leader - Lourene Liebenberg (Minding Minds); Outstanding Community Organisation - South West Music Regional Conservatorium.

The local nominees were up against other finalists from across the Murray-Riverina, which includes the Albury, Corowa, Griffith, Leeton, Temora, Tumut and Wagga regions.

Winners of the 2022 Murray Riverina Business Awards will now represent the region at the State Business Awards to be held later this month.
