Two thefts in one night

Two separate thefts between Friday and Saturday last week are being investigated by police.

In one incident, a car speaker was stolen from a car parked in Harfleur St, Deniliquin between 10pm last Friday and 6.30am Saturday.

The speaker is valued at $250.

While being charged, the key barrel of an electric scooter parked outside a Fowler St residence was removed between 9am last Friday and 8.10am Saturday.

Anyone with information about either incident should contact Deniliquin Police or CrimeStoppers.

Driver suspended

A 20 year-old man with a Victorian licence was suspended from driving for 24 hours last Friday evening after allegedly returning a positive roadside drug test.

Police stopped the man driving in Decimus St, Deniliquin about 7.20pm.

After allegedly testing positive for methamphetamines, he was taken to Deniliquin Police Station for saliva testing.

Because the station test was inconclusive, a second sample was taken for laboratory testing.

He was issued a temporary suspension and a court attendance notice pending the lab results.
