The Rams fought hard against a better team all day.
Injuries and players being unavailable hindered Deni’s efforts and made scoring opportunities hard to come by.
Captain Harry Hillier led from the front all day while Rusty Millward and Cable Fitzpatrick worked hard as well.
The coaches also took the opportunity to try a few players in different positions.
Aydan Mathews and Tom McCallum accepted the challenge and were involved in some good passages of play.
Final score, Mulwala 15.15 (105) to Deni Rams 1.1 (7).
The Rams fourths travelled to play Mulwala and had a great win against the young and determined Lions.
Deni had contributors all over the ground with Noah Bradley and Charlie Hillier leading the way.
Up forward Luke Todd provided a focal target and the small forwards mopped up any loose ball and hit the scoreboard.
Riley Ives made the most of his opportunities kicking four goals, while Todd finished with three.
The backline was solid all day with Harry Dudley and Will McCartney having good games.
While they had a strong win, coach Tim Hillier emphasised that his side needs to get more numbers to the contest and help each other out more.
‘‘We will need to work on this over the next month or so.
‘‘I was pleased with the way the players have accepted and adapted to playing in different positions to give everyone an equal run.’’
Better players in an event effort by all were Noah Bradley, Charlie Hillier, Riley Ives, Luke Todd, Tyson Willis and Lachie Holloway.
Final score, Deni Rams 15.19 (109) to Mulwala 2.0 (12).

Deni Rovers’ thirds won in emphatic fashion, smashing Picola United by 105 points at Picola Recreation Reserve on Saturday.
After a great game against second placed Strathmerton the previous week the Roos picked up where they left off with a consistent four-quarter effort.
Hayden Gardiner continued his great work up forward with another four-goal haul with Patty Wescot running amok with three of his own in a dynamic fashion.
Thomas Chandler took the votes with a hard head and clean skills around the ball setting up play all across the ground.
The Roos took charge for the majority of the day but weren’t able to put the game to bed due to some inaccurate kicking.
Kaiden Joss, Ray Murphy (three goals), Ben East (three) and Jay McCully stood tall in the second half and all put in great performances to help the side to a big win.
Final score, Deni Rovers 16.22 (118) to Picola Utd 2.1 (13).
The Rovers fourths took it right up to the second placed Picola United but couldn’t quite get the job done, going down by 16 points.
It was a tough game against the Blues, with the Roos fighting it out to the end.
Unfortunately the bigger Picola side proved too skilful.
Better players for the Rovers included Bryce Lea on a wing, playing his best game for the year, sister and brother combination Jemika and Alvin Cooper, Liam East and Alex Harvey.
Final score, Picola Utd 6.6 (42) to Deni Rovers 4.2 (26).
