• ‘A true reflection’ - Local nurses participated in a ‘sit in’ strike as a stalemate for better conditions and pay continued. The fourth strike for the year, Deniliquin NSW Nurses & Midwives Association branch member Rhonda Dixon said the number in attendance was a true reflection of the ongoing issues of staffing levels and recruitment because of the conditions. Seventeen nurses took part, which represented almost all of the staff on duty that day.

• ‘ERC buys car park for future development’ - Edward River Council purchased 22 Edwardes Street, Deniliquin, as part of a longer-term vision to develop the CBD. Measuring 1,442m², the block is currently used as a car park at the river end of the street. Future use of the site was yet to be determined
• ‘Triple induction’ - Three more members of the Purtill family were inducted to the Shell Rimula Transport Wall of Fame. After accepting his induction in 2021, Brian Purtill was joined in 2022 by brothers Geoffrey and Ian and their father Keith - the founder of what is now known as Purtill Group.
• ‘Man airlifted after ute rolls’ - A 50 year-old man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after the ute he was driving rolled in North Deniliquin. Witnesses described to police that there was a period of “erratic driving” before the ute crashed and rolled. It landed on its roof, trapping the driver inside.
• ‘Village victory’ - After many years of research, feasibility studies, talking, tenders, re-tenders, and costing revisions, the Edward River Village project was finally underway. Deniliquin company Deni Civil & Construction set up a worksite at the home of the future seniors living precinct and land forming work started the same day.
• ‘School to close’ - Waning enrolment numbers lead to the decision to close Deniliquin Christian School. It was based on a recommendation from the school’s board. Staff and students would see out the school year at the west Deniliquin campus, after which the site would be vacated.
