• ‘Blighty coaches all back’ - The expectation, excitement and enthusiasm in the air at Blighty heading into season 2023 was strong enough to have enticed all football coaches to return again for next season. A few weeks after Kyel Bain re-signed to lead the seniors, others re-committed. Reserves - Dion WInter and Brett Napier; Thirds - Matt Dudley; Fourths - Tim Brown; Fifths - Sammy Rourke.
• ‘Trio are Rams for life’ - Three of Deniliquin Rams loyal servants for more than a decade were awarded life memberships by the club to show their appreciation. The life memberships were awarded to Ben Nisbet, Jayden Pitts and Elle Panton at the senior presentation night. All three had celebrated 200 game milestones throughout the season.
• ‘Races cancelled: Track-side activities to go ahead’ - A week after excitedly promoting they could go ahead with a full Deniliquin Caulfied Cup Day race meet for the first time since COVID-19, excessive rain forced the Deniliquin Racing Club to call off the racing portion of the day. The gates would still open for a track-side party, however.
• ‘Talen attends TAP program’ - Deni Junior Giants basketball star Talen Barnes attended a camp as part of the Talented Athlete Program (TAP) in Sydney. TAP is a specialist junior talent development program conducted by Basketball NSW in conjunction with the NSW Office of Sport. It is an intensive three day training and education event held at Sydney Homebush Centre. The kids are exposed to various high performance platforms and trained under Basketball NSW head coaches.
• ‘DNA and Rhinos impacted by flooding’ - Playing schedules for Deniliquin cricket and netball were altered as a result of flooding in the Edward River. The flood gate closing access to Memorial Park was installed, and water covered the Deniliquin Netball Association courts, the number three oval and part of the Deniliquin golf course. The Deniliquin Rhinos and DNA clubrooms were surrounded by water.
