The iconic Aussie entertainment group will bring their Big Red Ute and a cache of country-inspired and other great songs to the Deni Ute Muster audience for the first time.
Caterina Wiggle - one of two Red Wiggles - said it will be a new experience for the entire Wiggles team.
“We can’t wait - we’ve never been before,” she told the Pastoral Times.
“The original Wiggles had been to Deniliquin before for a performance (not the Ute Muster) and they always tell us some great stories if we go through that area.
“Anthony (one of the original Wiggles) was familiar with the Deni Ute Muster but none of the rest of really knew much about it, but I’m really excited.
“We’re coming with the Big Red Ute and keen to be part of the action.
“It’s funny when you drive it around, the started you get. But people love to take their picture with it - it’s really a gorgeous car.”
The Wiggles will appear on the main stage at 2pm Saturday, October 4 after the World Record Blue Singlet Muster.
Caterina promised the performance would be full of “lots of great Wiggles songs”.
It will include some of the tracks off their country inspired album Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!, and from their new album The tree of Wisdom which will be released a day before their Muster appearance.
The Wiggles will be joined by all their wiggly friends - Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus, Captain Feathersword and TikTok sensation The Tree of Wisdom - with a show that will have all the youngest Musterers, and some older ones, on their feet singing and dancing along.
“The Wiggles is an iconic Australian band, so to be performing at an iconic Australia festival is a perfect combination,” Caterina said.
“It’s a huge family friendly event with lots of things to see and do.
“The beauty of The Wiggles is that we always try and introduce young people to new genres of music, and country music is all about storytelling.
“We also dress up in our hats and boots, and the children love dressing up when they come to see us too.
“It’s wonderful to be included in such a diverse line-up of musical acts for the weekend.
“Some of the others performing this year are actually features on our album - The Wolfe Brothers, Kaylee Bell, Jackson Dean and Troy Cassar-Daley - so it will be great to see some of them do their shows too.”
Whether any of them will reunite with The Wiggles on the Muster stage to perform is a bit of a mystery.
“The Wolfe Brothers joined us in Tamworth and did really well with the dancing.
“Certainly if any of them want to join us on stage in Deniliquin we’ll make room for them.”
This year’s Deni Ute Muster - which will be held Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4 - is on track to he a sell-out with 22,000 people expected to be on site each day.
