Giving the community a behind the scenes look at the Deniliquin Hospital and its government funded upgrades, the open day will be hosted Sunday, May 5.
While free to attend, those wishing to take part are asked to pre-register by 6pm this Sunday to assist with planning.
Deniliquin Local Health Advisory Committee chair Lynda Barclay said the open day dominated discussion at LHAC’s April meeting, held on Monday.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to view the recent upgrades throughout the hospital,” Mrs Barclay said.
“We have amazing facilities for a small town, and this is the community’s opportunity to view our facilities including the renal unit, the new theatres, day surgery, emergency department, maternity and our very new palliative care rooms.
“We will also be showcasing our CT and Telestroke services,.”
Information will also be available regarding community health and mental health services.
Hospital staff and senior management will be on hand to run tours and to respond to any queries from the public.
“This is a one-off opportunity to have a guided tour of our facility,” Mrs Barclay said.
“We would love the community to support this event, as feedback from our consumers has informed the services we now have.
“Significant staff time and planning has gone into this event and we would love to show it off to as many people as we can.”
