The vibrant spirit of Mathoura Public School was alive and well Friday last week, as students eagerly participated in the annual cross country event.

Against the backdrop of the bush track winding along the picturesque Gulpa Creek Walking Trail, participants embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and determination, making every stride count.
Principal Janice Eddy said the action on the course was impressive, with some excellent times being produced.
“Well done to each and every student who completed the whole course; you displayed great determination and excellent sportsmanship,” she said.
The fastest times in the 3km event were achieved by Sophie Eddy (12:04), Karter Dunn (14:06) and George Humphreys (14:12), while the fastest times obtained in the 2km event were achieved by Max Humphreys (8:58), Bruce Twomey (9:13) and Chase Sarota (9:58).

“Special congratulations to Zaria, Charli, Chloe, Maudie, Arlo, Bruce, Chase, Nino, Billy, Sophie, Bindi and Tristan who have all qualified to represent Mathoura PS at the Deniliquin District PSSA Cross Country Trials,” Mrs Eddy said.
“The trails are to be held in Deniliquin on Friday, May 30.”
