The vibrant spirit of Mathoura Public School was alive Thursday last week as students eagerly participated in their annual cross-country event.

Against the backdrop of the bush track winding along the picturesque Gulpa Creek Walking Trail, participants embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and determination, making every stride count.
The action on the course was impressive, with some excellent times being produced.
The fastest times in the 3-kilometre event were achieved by Katelyn Eddy (13:05), Khoa Unwin (13:25), Jonathon Moorse (13:52), Bindi Taylor (14:52) and Bobbie Hullah (15:00).
The 2km event saw many students obtaining times under ten minutes, including Sophie Eddy (8:18), Jimmy Hullah (8:52), Max Humphreys (9:00), Kohen McIntosh (9:15), George Humphreys (9:26), Charlie Hullah (9:22), Harry Schulz (9:40), Maudie Taylor (9:42) and Zaria Wilson-Baker (9:45).

Kindergarten Girls - Grace T (surname not provided), 1; Frankie Ward, 2; Evie Unwin, 3.

Special congratulations to Maudie, Zaria, Mya, Jimmy, Max, Kohen, Charlie, Sophie, Khoa, Bindi, Kate, George, Bobbie and Jonathon who have all qualified to represent Mathoura PS at the Deniliquin District PSSA Cross Country Trials to be held in Deniliquin on Monday, May 27.
Jonathon Moorse finished with a strong stride and impressive time.
Khoa Unwin finished with an impressive time of 13m 25s.
Frankie Ward participated in her first cross country event.
