Our Northern Conference is made up of teams from Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Shepparton, Echuca and Benalla.
The day consists of each team playing three or four games, from 10am through to 2.30pm. The games are made up of 10-minute halves.
We travelled up the freeway to Wodonga. Thanks to Benalla Buslines for its support.
Our first game was 10.30am against Merriwa Magpies (Wangaratta).
For our first game as a team, we played really well. We had lots of the play but just couldn’t put the score on the board.
Nat Pritchard won the T.R.Y. award (Team, Rules and You). This was voted by the opposition for the player demonstrating good sportsmanship and respectful play.
Our second game was against Wodonga at 11.30am. We once again had lots of the footy, just not enough players. The weather temperature started to take its toll and a short break didn’t help us.
Our third game was against Echuca at 2pm. Our players came out strong early with a good rest between games. Our lack of numbers in the last game compared to the opposition was the difference.
All our players said they had a great day and had lots of fun, which is the main reason they play.
Our players were Nat, Matt, John, Jade, Andrew, Holly, Joel, Tyrese, David, Tim, Josh and Aaron.
Thanks to Robyn, Michael, Pete, Donna, Ray, Sheryl and Tyrone.
With five carnivals left in the season, we are looking for more helpers.
If you would like to volunteer your time, please contact Shane Richardson.
We are training Fridays at 4.30pm at the Benalla Saints football ground.
