Deni Auskick president Nick Gatacre said it was an “awesome” way to complete a great Auskick season.
“From my point of view, it was the best and most successful year of Auskick ever, in terms of numbers.
“We had 115 kids sign up across the season.
“The season saw 12 weeks of playing on Sundays from 9am to 10am, with lots of fun game experience and quality coaching.
“Four teams - the Ducks, Joeys, West and Yabbies - played each other each week, as well as an under-6 group.”
Sunday featured a shortened version of the regular Auskick program, with some added fun end of season activities.
“Every player got a medal as part of the presentation and amazing morning tea treats from North Deni Bakery.
“The parents versus kids match was a highlight, as the kids got to use their skills against the parents.”
Outside of learning footy skills in Deni each week, 12 Deniliquin Auskick players were also fortunate to get to play at Marvel Stadium during half-time of the North Melbourne and Geelong AFL game last month.
This weekend, a group of Deniliquin Auskick players will travel to play in an Auskick tournament at Rand.
