In two weeks, he will compete in an elimination fight for the Oceanic Championships.
The final will be held in Dandenong, and if successful, Charlton will compete for the title in Tahiti.
Fighting out of the respected Golden Rivers Boxing Club and trained by coach Wally Harry, Charlton has returned to the ring after having 18 months off due to a severe thumb injury that required surgery.
Fighting at light middleweight (71kg), Charlton has been building momentum towards his goal.
Most recently, he entered the Elite Amateurs event in Lilydale.
Coming off just two fights, he was paired against the most active Victorian boxer this year, Lachie Frankle.
He was able to secure a split decision victory in Lilydale, a hard-fought win that showcased his grit and determination in the ring.
“It’s all going good; I’m feeling confident,” he said of his performance and preparation for future fights.
With his sights now set on the Oceanic title path, Charlton’s focus and form are drawing attention from boxing fans across the region.
