It was a warm match, but the ladies pushed through and continued to strengthen their bond as a team.
The attacking end began to find their rhythm midway through the game, delivering some excellent passages of play into the goal circle.
The defence faced a fast-paced Waaia attacking line but held their ground, staying composed and fighting right to the final whistle.
It’s great to see the team’s connections growing stronger each week.

The ladies continue to grow as a team, building on their connection and teamwork.
Jane Napier and Maddie Charlton put in a strong effort in defence, working tirelessly throughout the game.
Sammy Rourke took on wing defence for the first time, showing great listening skills and responding well to all advice given.
Chloe Macknight stepped into goals alongside Steph Barry and showcased her abilities with confidence.
The mid-court began to find their rhythm.

The C-grade team took on Waaia with fierce determination.
From the first whistle to the last, they chased every ball and gave 100 per cent across the court.
The defensive pressure from Ruby Williams in GK and the tireless efforts of Marie ‘Chook’ Watson stood out.
In the mid-court, Ciara D’Aprile, Ruby Murphy, Mikayla Collie and Georgia Brydon combined well to create strong passages of play despite heavy pressure from Waaia.
Up in the circle, Rach Bucholtz and Emma Brain worked hard to earn some well-deserved goals.
Once again, the scoreboard didn’t tell the full story – but the team spirit and work ethic certainly did!
Very proud of these Redeyes and love watching them each week build on their strengths and work as a team.

The team hit the court full of energy against Waaia.
It was fantastic to see the girls starting to gel as a team, with strong improvements both individually and collectively.
The teamwork on display was a big step forward and bought plenty of excitement on the sidelines!
Although the scoreboard didn’t reflect their effort and determination, the progress was clear.
The mid-court - with Sarah Van Soest, Jess Butcher and Georgia Brydon performing well - was showing promising signs of improvement. These girls have come a long way since the start of the season.
Alena Larmour showed how versatile she was in GA and centre.
It was lovely to have Abbie Downie and Chook Watson play for the team. They were valuable in defence, alongside Shelby Hislop.

Under-17s: Blighty 34 def by Waaia 51.
We are very proud of the Redeyes, who faced top side Waaia on our home ground.
The Blighty girls took it to Waaia early being a team not to be taken lightly.
One goal was the difference at half-time.
Waaia then made many changes to challenge the Redeyes to which our girls battled to win the contest in the third quarter.
In the last quarter the girls remained focused and tried their best, despite things not going their way. Waaia were too strong.
Izzy Pearn was dedicated in GK.
She had a tough job on her hands and persisted all day, never giving up and doing what was asked of her.
Amelia Hay, looking very at home in the centre, once again dominated the court.
She was attacking and intercepting throughout the game. Her workload was huge, and he was fantastic to watch.
Gwen Gazzara interchanged in the mid-court and did a great job in defence, taking intercepts at crucial times.
We are improving each week and building great team morale, keep it going girls.

Under-15s: Blighty 23 def by Waaia 26.
The girls played a ripper of a game, only going down by three goals.
The Redeyes came out fierce with beautiful passages of play down the attacking end and strong pressure down the defence.
It was neck-and-neck the first quarter, with the Redeyes being up by two goals.
The girls kept fighting through the second quarter.
They tried some different combos down the court, with Lily Peterson and Savannah Bain shining in defence and creating many turnovers.
In the third quarter, we were down by 12 goals. But a switch up in the attacking end changed the game.
The girls stunned us all in the fourth quarter with their great attacking abilities, bringing the ball down the court.
Kyah Watson and Lily Peterson worked amazingly together in the ring.
Emma Taylor replicated exactly what we worked on at training in the game, coming forward to the ball with strong drives.
Unfortunately, Waaia came out on top but our Redeyes should still count it as a win!
It was a great learning experience for the girls, and moving forward we can work on it.
Their determination and grit brought us back into the game.

Under-13s: Blighty 25 def Waaia 5.
The under-13s delivered a commanding performance against Waaia on Saturday, securing a confident victory.
From the first whistle, Blighty took control of the game with strong teamwork, accurate passing, and sharp shooting.
Different players relished the opportunity to shoot with Shelby Huckin, Alice Peterson, Isla Andrews and Peggy McKenzie working brilliantly in the goal circle with Ella Charlton to consistently convert opportunities into points.
Rotating mid-court players, including Kaydnce Sibraa and Myah Gazzara, displayed excellent movement and support.
Defensively, Georgie Butcher, Sophie Pearn, Indi Bain and Shelby Huckin were rock solid, applying pressure across the court and limiting Waaia’s scoring chances.
The coaches and supporters praised the team’s energy and discipline throughout the match.
The win reflects the hard work the players have been putting in at training and sets a strong tone for the rest of the season.

The girls showed great persistence, improving as the game went on - finding their own space and staying in front of their players.
Remy Tremble showed us her strong ability to keep her eye on the ball and read the play as she turned over many balls for the team.
Amaya Hall played a great game in goal shooter, working the ball around the ring and positioning herself under the post to shoot goals.
Liv Butcher worked hard at finding space away from her opponent, bringing the ball down the court and assisting the team by feeding the ball into the shooters.
We can improvement from all players each week, and look forward to future games.
