The players worked as a team this week increasing our communication and being aware of our space on the court.
Meagan Lowry passed some bullet passes into the goal ring when she moved into centre.
The defenders worked really well together with the inclusion of Kelsey O’Reilly into the team.
It was great to see the players stand tall, show wonderful teamwork and build as a group.
Looking forward to our next game and continuing to grow as a group.

B-grade: Picola United 59 def Blighty 19.
The players each had their own goal to work towards.
Maddie Charlton worked hard on her goal, keeping her eyes up and getting some great intercepts.
With some new combinations on the court, it was fantastic to see everyone working as a team.
We are continuing to build as a team and apply the skills we are working on. Bring on next week.

C-grade: Picola United 61 def Blighty 16.
The girls came out in the first quarter looking sharp and ready to put on a show, but ultimately went down to a well drilled Picola side.
C-grade continues to grow each week, and it’s fantastic to see the girls starting to gel and put together some strong passages of play down the court.
Emma Brain and Rachel Bucholtz continue to show their connection in the ring, and their leadership on the court is outstanding.
In defence, Niccola Stanworth, Ruby Williams and Amelia Fraser worked hard all game to try and reduce the number of Picola goals.
Thank you to Krystle Winter and Georgia Brydon for playing for the team this week. It was great to see you slip in and make some great intercepts and play well.
Despite the result, the team’s progress and connection are clear to see, and the determination these girls have is a credit to them individually.

The awards went to Ciara D’Aprile for excellent work through the mid-court, and to Mikayla Collie, Niccola Stanworth and Ruby Williams for their relentless efforts in defence.
C-reserve: Picola United 62 def Blighty 7.
C-reserve went into the match feeling confident.
While Picolas’ stronger team dominated much of the game, the Blighty girls showed incredible grit and determination right to the final whistle.
It was a warm afternoon, but that didn’t stop our girls from giving it their all as they continued to chase down the Picola side, never giving up.
The mid-court girls worked hard throughout the game.
There’s plenty to work on at training, but watching these girls play hard and enjoy themselves is a true credit to the team spirit and attitude they bring each week.
Grace Ingram received an award for her outstanding work in defence, and for taking on advice given during the match.
Lauryn Bond and Rachel Bucholtz were other award winners for their exceptional leadership and versatility across the court.
The final award went to Grace Reid, who had a strong debut performance.
Under-17s: Picola United 32 def by Blighty 35.
Round five saw the Redeyes meet Picola on their home ground.
The Blighty girls started impressively, taking the lead at quarter time.
The following three quarters were a tough battle.
A few errors saw the Redeyes girls lose a little momentum, however they managed to claw back and remain calm in the final term, achieving the team’s first win.
Ash Charlton was once again dominant, causing havoc for her opponent, attacking strongly and impressively accurate.
Amelia Hay, in centre, was a strong presence and was very skilled at controlling the ball down the court.
They were both lovely to watch in attack.
Emily Harvey fought hard in defence on a tough day, as the game was well contested.
Izzy Pearn also worked hard with Emily.
It was a very good learning experience for our girls, who came out on top.

Under-15s: Picola United 33 def Blighty 13.
Today was another tough battle for the girls, coming up against Picola.
The girls each had a goal to work towards from training into the game, and were determined.
Amy Doherty and Emma Taylor came on in the second quarter and changed the dynamic of the game.
They created space and passages of play with their hard drives and front cuts.
Savannah Bain played well, switching from different defensive positions and applying pressure the whole game.
Special shout out to Lucy Pisasale, who did beautifully in the attacking end, working hard for the ball.
Each girl worked on their goal throughout the game, all playing great netball.
The team is coming together beautifully, and we are so proud of all the improvements across the board.

Under-13s: Picola United 18 def by Blighty 24.
Blighty took an early lead against a determined Picola.
Continuing to shoot accurately, Ella Charlton stood tall in goals with support from Lexi Bucholtz and Indi Bain.
Shelby Huckin was strong in defence with lots of pressure resulting in numerous intercepts.
It was a great team effort, with all players continuing to develop skills and versatility to rotate through all positions.
Awards: Shelby Huckin, Indi Bain, Alexis Bucholtz.
Under-11s: Not scored.
This week, the minis came up against Picola for a tough game.
The girls did a great job and demonstrated everything we have been working on at training, which was great to see.
Eloise Hay played each end of the court, switching between attack and defence with ease and shooting great goals. She always made sure to be in front of her opponent, and get her hands to as many balls possible.
Carla Brown found great space away from the opposition to bring the ball down the court and feed into the shooters. Carla continues to take on our advice and showcases it in her play.
