In our final game of the season, we faced a tough challenge against top-of-the-ladder Deni Rovers.
While we didn’t come away with the win, the ladies stepped onto the court with determination and gave 100 per cent from the first whistle to the last.
Ash Charlton had another outstanding performance in goal attack, forming a dynamic duo with Chelsea Weir, who fed the ball beautifully throughout the game.
Celebrating her 100th game for the club, Chelsea led by example, bringing positivity and encouragement to her teammates at every opportunity.
Steph Barry also marked her 100th game for Blighty, and worked tirelessly in defence alongside Stevie Bateman.
The pair applied relentless pressure to the Rovers' goalers, forcing turnovers and keeping us in the contest.
Meagan Lowry was a standout in wing defence, consistently applying pressure on the pass and providing vital support in transition, helping drive the ball into attack.
The ladies played with heart, unity, and resilience – a true testament to how far they’ve come.
It’s been a pleasure coaching this team and watching each player grow individually, while also seeing our team skills strengthen over the season.
Well done on a fabulous season, ladies. Be proud of how far you’ve come.

B-grade: Blighty 8 def by Deniliquin Rovers 77.
In our final game of the season, the B-grade ladies took to the court with a positive attitude and a determination to finish strong.
Grace Reid stepped up from C-grade this week and delivered a fantastic performance in goals, taking every opportunity that came her way.
She was well supported by Cody Mitchell in goal attack, with the two forming a strong partnership and working together beautifully throughout the game.
In defence, Emily Harvey, Ruby Williams, and Jane Napier worked hard to apply pressure against a strong Deni Rovers side, never giving up and staying committed until the final whistle.
While the scoreboard didn’t reflect our effort this season, the resilience and unity of this group have been a true highlight.
Despite the many team changes due to injury and other challenges, these ladies stuck together and gave it their all each week.
It’s been a pleasure coaching the B-grade team this year and watching each player grow with every game.

C-grade: Blighty 11 def by Deniliquin Rovers 64.
The C-grade girls always knew it would be a tough challenge taking on the top team in the Deni Rovers, but true to form, they came out with fighting spirit from the first whistle.
Blighty produced some brilliant passages of play, showing just how much they’ve improved this season and how far they’ve come as a united team.
Best on court went to Lara Elphinstone, making her C-grade debut and proving how far she’s developed.
She never gave up all day and worked seamlessly in defence with Ruby Williams, who also earned an award for her outstanding game.
Rachel Bucholtz displayed her trademark versatility, with speed and agility that lifted the team’s attack.
Emma Brain was a standout, leading with composure and offering constant support to her teammates.
In the mid-court, Mikayla Collie and Ciara D’Aprile worked tirelessly, pushing through every contest.
Grace Reid and Alena Larmour showed great adaptability, moving the ball confidently and contesting every possession.
A strong performance against the competition’s top side, and plenty of positives to carry into next season.

C-reserve: Blighty 4 def by Deniliquin Rovers 78.
I could not be more proud of the C-reserve girls today, taking on the top team with grit and determination.
The girls were eager to see how much they had improved since meeting the Rovers at the start of the season — and the difference was clear.
Every player worked hard from start to finish, with their increased fitness, skills, and teamwork shining through.
Lara Elphinstone had an outstanding game, earning best on court and showing just how far she’s come this year.
In defence, Grace Ingram and Sarah Bain were tireless, working together to keep the opposition under pressure.
Lauryn Bond, Jess Butcher, and Chris Hall gave 110 per cent effort, running hard and contesting every ball.
Alena Larmour finished off her great season with another solid performance.
A fantastic way to wrap up the year — well done, girls.

Under-17s: Blighty 15 def by Deniliquin Rovers 73.
It was the last game of the season against top of the ladder Rovers at home.
It was a very tough day out for our girls, who fought extremely hard and did their very best against a very high skilled Deni outfit.
Ash Charlton attacked and defended strongly all day, showcasing her wonderful progress this season.
Emily Harvey made the goalies work for every goal with teammate Izzy Pearn.
Some beautiful passages of play, but rovers are just too strong, showing why they are ladder leaders.
Hard way to finish the season, but our team unity has been incredible and something to be very proud of.

Under-15s: Blighty 10 def by Deniliquin Rovers 57.
The last game of the season came around quick.
The girls came up against the tough, well polished Rovers side.
The girls came out with passion and enthusiasm for their last game of the season.
The improvement seen from each and every one of the team has been impeccable.
Ivy Ball displayed her strength out on that court, with great pressure, getting consistent intercepts.
Amy Doherty once again played an amazing game, her ability to direct the game and always be an option down the court makes her a stand-out player in the game.
Lucy Pisasale has improved out of sight this season, growing her strength and skills down the court, while developing a higher amount of knowledge for various positions down the court.
The Redeyes have impressed me each week, and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to be their coach.

Under-13s: Blighty 9 def by Deniliquin Rovers 24.
Blighty faced a tough match against a strong Deniliquin Rovers side.
The team started with good intensity, putting up a strong defensive effort and good flow into attack.
Despite this, the Deniliquin Rovers’ height made converting difficult.
Blighty’s defenders, worked hard to limit the Rovers’ scoring opportunities, with standout efforts from backline players Shelby Huckin and Sophie Pearn.
Kaydnce Sibraa, dominated the mid-court with support from Isla Andrews and Georgina Butcher, showing determination and persistence to transition the ball forward under pressure.
However, the team struggled to convert opportunities in the goal circle, with Deniliquin’s tight defence making it difficult to find space.
While the scoreboard didn’t reflect the effort shown on court, the match highlighted areas for growth and development as the season progresses.
The Blighty players remained united and fought hard to the final whistle.
The under-13s team look forward to finishing the season in the top eight and beginning their finals campaign.

This week we came up against a skilled Deni side but all the girls rose to their opponents and showcased all the skills we have been working on all year making beautiful play down the court.
Jewel Winter and Ruby Foley took everything in their stride and played a great game in their positions.
We have had the most wonderful year with the girls and are so proud of how far they have come and all the hard work and effort they have put in this year.
