The girls began the game with spirit and drive, with all players combining beautifully and contributing to the one point lead at the first change.
The defence worked tirelessly, rebounding and capitalising on turnovers despite the accuracy of the Jerilderie shooters.
The mid court drive provided opportunities for our shooting combination and Rovers went into the main break just a narrow five goals down.
Fresh legs and experience was injected into the defensive end of the court at the start of the last half, but Jerilderie worked hard to increase their lead.
Despite Rovers’ best efforts, they lead by 12 into the final quarter.
The girls again stepped up and matched Jerilderie goal-for-goal in the last quarter, but Jerilderie prevailed to take the win.

B-grade: Rovers 65 def Jerilderie 23.
Great teamwork and gritty determination saw Rovers B-grade notch up another strong win.
With their trademark high intercept count, as well as numerous offensive and defensive rebounds, the girls capitalised on any loose play and were convincing winners of each quarter.
Georgia Van Lieshout dominated in goal attack, building a strong connection with Simone Lumbar and the offensive mid court unit of Britt Kirby and Sarah Purtill.
The ever dependable defensive duo of Natalie Sampson and Jemma Keast once again showed their superior skills and kept the Jerilderie shooters under pressure.
The team was well supported by youngsters Hazel Glowrey, who had a stellar game on the wing, and Makayla Finn, who provided fresh legs and seamlessly fitted in to goals in the final quarter.
A strong win that sets us up for the final two games of the season.

C-grade: Rovers 64 def Jerilderie 31.
Defensive pressure applied throughout the court was to a high standard enabling us to push out the lead.
We were able to try out some different attacking combinations which all proved to be unstoppable.

The Rovers girls came out strong against the number two side.
Building each quarter proved that our training is paying off.
Attacking combinations working seamlessly with great feeding by Vicki Beames, Ellissa Boyer and Nikita Doyle.
Disciplined defence created valuable turnovers.

The girls played an awesome game against Jerilderie, winning by 10.
Eliza Atley was always ready to pick up great turnovers down the court and finding a great three-feet in defence.
Miley McCully was fantastic in wing defence and committed for the full 60 minutes, never giving in to her player and capitalising on each opportunity.
Braelie Wesierski had a great start in goal attack and transitioned well to the wing and again gave it her all.
Makayla Finn was amazing in both goal shooter and goal attack, providing great accuracy and positioning well within the goal circle.

Under-13s: Rovers 52 def Jerilderie 6.
After a slow start to the game, the girls regrouped at quarter time by gaining rhythm and taking risks.
It was a great team game with lots of voice and encouragement.

The young Roos got the day off to a great start, showing their strength in defence with Ava Braybon, Issy Didcock, Eva Maher and Lilly Boyer keeping the opposition scoreless the first half.
The attack end passing was on point from Stella Andrews, Lara Horne, Nina Glowrey, Aleaha Leetham and Harper Taylor.
The versatility of the team is outstanding.
