The Murray Valley Cricket Association tournament will begin with four games of cricket at Deniliquin’s Memorial Park oval tomorrow, with two games each at 11.30am and 3pm.
Play will move to Barooga for the following Saturday.
A number of Deniliquin players have registered to play, with the majority of local players lining up in the Crushers team.
It will be lead by Deni Rhinos player Andrew Hogan, and will also include players from Jerilderie, Katunga and Katamatite.
Leading the Challengers team is Barooga’s Riley Gow, who will captain a side made up of mostly Barooga and Tocumwal players.
The Blasters is a team made up of Cobram, Nathalia, Katamatite, Cobram and Barooga based players, lead by Cobram’s Adam Decicco.
The final team, the Warriors, is captained by Moama’s Jack Russell and includes players from Deniliquin, Cobram, Barooga and Tocumwal.
The Twenty20 competition was created following delays in community sport, which deferred the start of the MVCA season proper.
