The Deniliquin Croquet Club will host its Long Paddock Classic tournament at the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club courts this weekend.

Held over Saturday and Sunday, local players will be joined by others from across the region and interstate.
Players are asked to register by 8.30am Saturday, with play from 9am. Sunday’s play will begin at 9am.
Spectators are welcome on both days.
In other croquet news, Deniliquin was well represented in the recent Inter-regional Golf Croquet Competition at Cobram.
John and Mary James and Fred Littmann were selected to play for the Goulburn Valley Croquet Association team against the NEDCA team, consisting of players from north eastern Victoria and southern NSW.
The GVCA team won, 21 games to 15.
In Deniliquin club play, the lone game winner on Sunday was Terry Murphy.
Two game achievers included Rex Kernich, Andy Davis, Leo Barry, Fred Littmann, Peter Whittakers and Garry Brose.
Twenty-three players contested the day and there were four jump shots - Leo Barry had two, and John James and Brad Fawns had one each.
On Wednesday, 17 players contested play.
John James was declared the winner on a countback from Brian Dudley.
The two game achievers were Brad Fawns, Alan Higgins, Leo Barry, Andy Davis and Rex Kernich.
There were seven jump shots with John James scoring four and one each by Peter Whittakers, Andy Davis and Alan Higgins.
