Along with taking in the great race on the big screen, a joyous occasion for locals who got behind favourite Half Yours, racegoers had seven live races to take in on the day as well.
It was a great day for local jockey Hayley Spitse, who, after making her debut this year, guided home Tapo in the feature race 6 for a third career win.
Spitse also picked up third in race 5.
Tongala’s Rose Hammond mounted up five times on the day, her best result seeing her join Spitse on the podium in race five, placing second aboard Scusies.
Stay tuned to the Riverine Herald for a full report on cup day at Echuca, or pick up Friday’s print edition.
