Tungamah had Mathoura in a bear hug throughout the contest at Mathoura Recreation Reserve, crushing the Cutters 30.27 (207) to 0.
The Bears full-forward Mick McKeown found everything coming his way and he capitalised with 11 goals.
James Irvine was next best with four, while Lenny Lonergan kicked three.
Having lost much of its first choice 22 in the off-season, Mathoura will hope for better days ahead as it continues to blood this line-up.
One player who doesn’t fit the inexperienced mould of many of his teammates is club president Blake Keech, who brought up game number 300 for the Cutters.
A third-generation president who first played for the club at the age of seven, Keech’s stalwart presence is sure to be key to the group as it searches for improved outings in the future.
Mathoura will travel to the 2-4 Tocumwal on Saturday.
Netball:
Mathoura put in a spirited effort in the first half against Tungamah, but was ultimately overwhelmed by the Bears.
Scorelines of 8-13 and 14-23 at the first two breaks indicated the Cutters weren’t too far away from their opposition, but the Bears burst out of the half and didn’t look back, their dominant second half performance leading to a 52-18 final result.
Mathoura is yet to taste victory this season, its next match-up against the 4-1-1 Tocumwal on Saturday.
