The Deniliquin Bowling Club sent three teams to compete in the Fours tournament in Cohuna on Sunday, with two of them featuring prominently at the pointy end of the competition.
Twenty-six sides took to the greens and played four matches of 10 ends throughout the day.
Only two teams won all four matches, with the local combination of Jamie Shields (skip), Kevin Keane, Shane Laing and Bryan Kemnitz being one of those.
They played very solid team bowls all day, but were adjudged second overall after recording a slightly inferior shot differential to the winning side.
The team of Peter Chadderton (skip), Graham Nisbet, John Murray and Mark Law made it a very good day for Deniliquin when they finished third overall after only one narrow loss early in the tournament.

Both of the club singles finals will be played on Sunday, with each match starting at 11am.
Former multiple winners Steve O’Brien and Shane Laing will attempt to win another men’s title, while Carly Crothers and Joanne Bovell will be striving to be crowned the ladies singles champion.
A healthy crowd is expected, with quality bowls assured in both matches.

The final Weekend Pennant matches before the holiday break will be played tomorrow, with the competition scheduled to resume on January 20.
Division 1 are away to Rochester with skips on car duty.

The Clear Lifestyle Support Jackpot Bowls on Wednesdays has been put on hold for a couple of weeks, but will resume on December 27.
The cash jackpot is a very healthy $1600.
